We’re looking for an R&D Team Lead to take technical and people leadership over one of our backend teams. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on backend engineering with leading, mentoring, and growing a small team of engineers, while shaping the architecture of systems that protect millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of backend services and APIs
  


• Own technical decisions related to architecture, scalability, performance, and security
  


• Stay hands-on and actively contribute to the codebase


• Lead, mentor, and support a backend team of 4 - 6 engineers
  


• Ensure high-quality and timely delivery through planning and prioritization


• Review code and enforce engineering standards and best practices


• Collaborate closely with Product, and other engineering teams
  


• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and career development of your team

 

Requirements

• Experience in a scale-up or fast-growing product company
  


• Strong experience as a Senior Backend Engineer with leadership exposure


• Proven experience with leading and mentoring engineers
  


• Solid backend development skills (e.g. Go, Java, Node.js, Python)


• Experience with API design and distributed / microservices architectures


• Good understanding of cloud-based production environments
  

Nice to have

• Background in cybersecurity, networking, or large-scale systems
  


• Experience with CI/CD, observability, and incident response
  


• Interest in shaping engineering processes and long-term architecture
