For a global research-driven company in life sciences — we are looking for a Java Scientific Platform Developer. The client's team builds and maintains a scientific application used by chemists and researchers to record and track reaction conditions in high-throughput chemistry experiments.

You will be enhancing this platform to support multi-step peptide synthesis workflows — designing new features that allow scientists to capture complex experimental sequences, intermediate steps, and outcomes in a structured and traceable way.

What you'll be doing:

• Extending the application to support multi-step peptide synthesis tracking and workflows


• Designing and building backend services and REST APIs for high-performance data processing


• Collaborating with domain experts (chemists and researchers) to translate workflow requirements into technical solutions


• Ensuring data integrity, traceability, and auditability of all experimental records


• Integrating new functionality with existing systems and Oracle databases


• Maintaining and deploying services in cloud environments (AWS)


• Participating in code reviews and version control via GitHub

What we're looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot


• Solid background in REST API design and integration


• Experience with Oracle Database and SQL


• Familiarity with containerisation tools, particularly Docker


• Knowledge of AWS and cloud deployment practices


• Nice to have: experience with scientific or laboratory software, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines
